Your role

 

The three-year programme will be made up of at least 3 rotations across different operational departments and support functions (some of which you may be able to choose, others will be assigned). Our aim is to prepare you for line management by equipping you with the skills and practical experience needed. As a part of this programme, you will be expected to study and pass a level 4 or above course relevant to your future career.  Examples could include level 5 Operations Department Manager; level 4 Improvement Practitioner; or level 4 Associate Project Manager.

 

Projects will be undertaken in each placement, with safety, quality and cost effectiveness as high priority where tasks could include: 

  • Resolving problems with guidance and support from management
  • Preparing KPI and management reports
  • Building and maintaining relationships with our customers and workforce
  • Logistics planning
  • Systems improvement and project work
  • Involvement in workforce recruitment, training and HR / people management processes
  • Undertaking management development training / apprenticeship.

 

Your profile

  • Educated to degree level, with a minimum of 2:2 (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Able to demonstrate some work experience
  • Will have excellent IT skills
  • Must have great communication skills
  • Will be proactive and practical in an industrial environment
  • Should have an analytical and forward-thinking approach
  • Have the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels
  • Will have a full, clean driving licence
  • Must have a passport for potential travel to European ports
  • Will be willing to undertake a Basic Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check
