CLdN Ports wish to recruit a Vehicle Technician to work within our busy Equipment Workshop and expanding Ro-Ro Terminal. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and have a flexible, professional and pro-active approach to work.
Your role
- Conducting vehicle preparation, servicing, MOT, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of makes and models.
- Using your technical knowledge to inspect engines and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based diagnostic equipment.
- Repairing or replacing broken or defective parts and resolving defects.
- Use of internal and external bespoke IT programs to log repairs and order required parts as and when required.
- Maintaining equipment and making sure tools are in good condition.
- Following checklists to ensure all procedures are completed.
- Completing all documentation to the required standard.
Your profile
- NVQ level 2 or above in light vehicle maintenance.
- Previous experience of light commercial vehicle repair techniques and MOT preparation, including servicing and repairs.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently on your own or as part of a team.
- Have a pro-active approach towards problem solving, workload and time management with good knowledge of Health and Safety.
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in using the latest diagnostic tools used for cars and vans.
- Hold a full driving licence.
- Proficiency using Microsoft systems.
- Be a self-motivated individual.
- Good time-keeping is essential.
- Ability to prioritise workload whilst working to tight timescales in accordance with company policies.
- A flexible approach to work.
- Must be willing to undertake any duties that may arise to contribute to the day-to-day running of the line equipment.
