We are now looking to strengthen our team in Killingholme and offer an exciting opportunity to join and support our Human Resource department. Our aim is to equip you with the skills and practical experience needed to become a competent HR Professional. As a part of this programme, depending on your current qualifications, you may be expected to study and pass Level 5 People Professional. 

Your role

With guidance from an experienced HR and payroll team, you will learn the practical application of legislation and best practice and how this translates into providing a professional advisory function to local and senior management, as well as providing an effective and efficient service to the business.  This will include:

  • Learning about and ensuring Company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Maintaining and updating HR information system and records for all employees, within the confines of GDPR legislation
  • Assisting managers with recruitment
  • Coordinating onboarding and delivery of inductions and other internal HR training
  • Assisting with and coordinating employee welfare / occupational health assessments
  • Advising managers in disciplinary, performance improvement and grievance cases
  • Carrying out project work as directed by management, including development of systems and processes 

 

Your profile

  • You must be educated to degree level, with a minimum 2:2; HR or other business degree preferred, but all degrees will be considered as training will provided as necessary
  • You must have excellent IT skills with the confidence to help develop new systems, and be competent in the use of all Microsoft packages and bespoke databases
  • Great communication skills are essential to build good working relationships at all levels
  • A proactive and practical approach for working in an industrial environment is important
  • You should have an analytical and forward-thinking approach to help develop systems and in looking for continuous improvement opportunities
  • A high level of attention to detail is imperative, as is integrity and discretion
  • You will have a full, clean driving licence and a passport for potential travel to our European ports.
  • We will require you to undertake a Basic Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check
