Your role
As a Port Operative Apprentice, you will support the team ensuring a safe and efficient operation is achieved for handling our customers’ cargo on & off our ships and around the port environment. As part of this role, you will be expected to study and pass a Level 2 Port Operations Apprenticeship, fully funded by the company.
Role Responsibilities
Using port equipment (e.g., terminal tractors/cranes/forklift trucks) for handling our customers’ cargo on & off our ships and around the port environment. Full training will be provided.
To follow health and safety procedures as laid out by the port.
Using our internal Freight Management system for locating cargo around the port.
To assist in the mooring and unmooring of our ships.
Warehouse operations.
Your profile
Pro-active approach to and awareness of H&S.
Team player, able to work on their own initiative.
Driving License desirable, but not essential.
As part of this role, you will be expected to study and pass the Port Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship.
