As a BI Data & Functional Analyst, you deliver business value at the intersection of business processes, data, and technology. Your mission is to translate operational and strategic information needs into actionable BI & Data solutions that enhance shipping efficiency, cargo optimization, supply chain performance and sustainable operations.
Your role
· Gather and analyse reporting needs from various departments.
· Act as the liaison between the business and BI & Data team; you understand both worlds and connect them effectively.
· Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and user stories; facilitate requirement workshops and 1-on-1 sessions.
· Work closely with the BI & Data team to design, test and deliver dashboards, analytic solutions and data models.
· Ensure requirements are implemented efficiently and according to agreed priorities, standards and processes.
· Proactively identify improvement opportunities for better data insights, process optimisation and automation.
· Ensure end-to-end follow-up of BI projects, including stakeholder alignment, implementation and change management.
· Oversee delivery in cross-functional teams; provide direction to developers in collaboration with the Data Engineering team lead and the Data & BI Manager.
· Validate delivered work against development standards (definition of done, quality, documentation) and coordinate feedback loops.
· Support the business in understanding and adopting data products; continuously gather feedback and translate it into improvements.
· Contribute to data literacy and self-service reporting capabilities across the organisation.
· Ensure user stories, tasks and data products are documented appropriately in work instructions and procedures.
Your profile
· You have strong experience in business analysis and are able to translate business questions into clear functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
· You are comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum/DevOps environment and you know how to support backlog management, refinement, sprint delivery and stakeholder demos.
· You have a solid understanding of data fundamentals, including data management, data quality principles and data modelling concepts and methodologies.
· You apply analytical thinking and basic statistical reasoning to validate insights and to support sound decision-making.
· You are experienced in supporting testing and validation activities, including UAT, and you help ensure that BI/data products meet quality and usability expectations.
· You have basic SQL knowledge and you understand key principles of data security and compliance, without needing to be a developer.
· You are familiar with data visualisation best practices and you know what makes dashboards clear, consistent, performant and actionable.
