CLdN Ports Killingholme wish to recruit a Night Maintenance Engineer to work within our busy and expanding engineering department. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and have a flexible, professional and pro-active approach to work, keeping our terminal equipment running through the night shift.
Your role
Repair, maintain, service and clean all mobile plant, including RoRo tractors, reach stackers, forklift trucks, RTG cranes, straddle carriers, cassette trailers and other Company-owned or leased port equipment.
Work flexibly and dynamically to meet operational demand throughout the night shift. Monday to Thursday 1900-0600hrs
Produce high-quality repairs, ensuring policy compliance and correct application of repair procedures and engineering principles.
Support the development and introduction of policies and procedures to improve efficiency and control expenditure.
Liaise with terminal managers and supervisors on maintenance activities to minimise disruption to operations.
Assist with procurement of spare parts, consumables and non-consumables for the Engineering and Terminal divisions.
Maintain good housekeeping within the workshop and terminal areas.
Complete job sheets, service records and other documentation whether on paper or digitally.
Use the Company’s computerised systems for parts and service activities.
Collect parts and other items from local suppliers when required.
Liaise with contractors, suppliers and customers.
Support the training and development of engineering apprentices, and undertake training courses for self-development.
Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, competently carrying out risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Comply with all Company policies, procedures, best practices and standards.
Your profile
Time-served or NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 qualified engineer in mechanical, plant or vehicle engineering, or equivalent experience.
Experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile plant — ideally forklifts, reach stackers, RoRo tractors, RTGs or similar port equipment.
Willing and able to work permanent night shifts.
Flexible, hands-on approach to meet operational demand.
Working knowledge of health & safety legislation, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Comfortable liaising with terminal managers, contractors and suppliers.
Willingness to support and mentor engineering apprentices.
Highly organised, with good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
