We are looking for an Assistant Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager – Automotive Logistics & Solutions, to be based in Purfleet, who will be accountable for specific contracts within the Ferry related automotive business of the Group. Within this challenging role, you will focus on the management of some of the company’s major automotive contracts. This role will also interact with the automotive operations as a whole 


Your role

This is a broad management role and you will be involved amongst other areas in


  • The management of existing contracts, to ensure that terms are complied with

  • Regular meetings at all levels with automotive customers

  • Developing new contracts where necessary

  • Calculation of rates, BAF & CPI clauses 

  • Working with our scheduling team for “spotbuy” customer requirements

  • Ensuring revenue is followed up through the invoicing and credit control chain

  • Leading in presentations to customers

  • Working with subcontractors including port and stevedoring operations


Your profile                                                                          

  • be graduate/degree level or equivalent by experience

  • to have effective time management, negotiation and influencing skills

  • have the ability to analyse and present data 

  • be able to work well under pressure 

  • have a high degree of flexibility 

  • have excellent communication skills 

  • be able to work on their own initiative

  • have excellent IT skills
