Energy Surcharge for RoRo Shipping

We add an Energy Surcharge to the freight rate to compensate for fluctuations in the price of the fuel (bunker) we use to power our ships and the price of CO2 emissions linked to that fuel. The Fuel Component is based on the average Rotterdam Low Sulphur Marine Gas Oil (LSMGO) price in €/tonne while the CO2 Component is based on the average CO2 price (EEX EUA End of Day Index price in EUR/tonne)*. The CO2 Component is adjusted during the EU phase-in period (-60% in 2024) and for routes to/from the UK (a further -50%). The Energy Surcharge is revised every month.

*the calculation period is from the 16th of the month N-2 until 15th of the month N-1. The fuel to CO2 conversion factor applied is that of our reference fuel (LSMGO) i.e. 3.206.

The applicable components of the Energy Surcharge in August are:

Fuel Component: EUR 719.52 (Average MGO Rotterdam 16.06.2024-15.07.2024)

CO2 Component: EUR 67.27 (Average EEX EUA End of Day Index price 16.06.2024-15.07.2024)

Currency conversion rates:

EUR/GBP: 0.8451 (average)

EUR/SEK: 11.3430 (average)
